Courtney Smith
Director
Courtney is a passionate educator with nearly 15 years of experience in education. This Cleveland native holds a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in education from Cleveland State University and a master's in industrial and organizational psychology from Adler University.
Courtney possesses a wealth of knowledge in the field of education, working with students from infancy through adulthood. She launched her career managing local preschools and moved on to teaching in secondary classrooms and teaching English internationally in China and South Africa. To date, Courtney has worked in public, private, parochial, suburban, urban, rural, and international institutions, which has helped her build a wide breadth of knowledge regarding what it takes for educational institutions to effectively support students and move beyond the status quo.
As a mother and educational leader, Courtney has a deep affinity and value for creating safe, loving, and enriching learning environments for children. Her expertise specifically in early childhood includes social emotional development, differentiation, communication skills, fine and gross motor-skill development, and language acquisition.
Aisha Bowen
Learning & Development Specialist
Aisha Bowen is a committed and caring education and DEI leader with eight years of experience in the field. In Aisha's lead educator roles throughout the globe, she has created equitable systems of classroom support and instructional design for early childhood and PK-12 age students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and many other learning and socioemotional disabilities. Aisha brings her breadth of experience teaching in urban, rural, suburban, and private sectors to support the diverse group of students at Maven School for Early Childhood Education.
Her expertise lies specifically in creating and supporting learning spaces that cater to a multitude of behavioral, academic, and socio-emotional needs. As a DEI leader, Aisha works with early childhood and PK-12 educational institutions to create cultures of diversity, equity, and inclusion through strategic planning, teacher training, and organizational development. She holds an undergraduate degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from Howard University and an M.S. Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania.
